In Ontario, media components are included throughout the Healthy Living Strand of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum, Grades 1-8.

Social Studies Grades Overview

Many of the Core Concepts of Social Studies Education K-12 in Saskatchewan relate to media education, such as Culture, Diversity, Identity, Technology and Values.

Teachers should also note that individual lessons often satisfy a number of learning outcomes.)

Some curricular expectations in Newfoundland and Labrador Mathematics courses relate to media and digital literacy, mostly relating to statistics and probability.

The British Columbia Mathematics curriculum has a number of expectations relating to digital and media literacy, primarily in connection with financial literacy and probability. In this lesson students encounter the key concepts of intellectual property, learning the difference between copyright and trademark and coming to understand how these affect how media products are created and sold.

Addressing AI in the Classroom: Tips for Teachers

Teachers can play a critical role in educating their students about AI, even if they aren’t experts on it. By addressing AI in ways that are designed to build students’ skills and teach them about the pitfalls of relying too much on it, teachers can help build the next generation of citizens who are empowered with the skills necessary to succeed in a world infused with AI technology.
