Saskatchewan - Creative Writing 20

CW20.1 Investigate visual, multimedia, oral and written texts as sources of inspiration for creative writing.

Indicators:

a. Explore sources of inspiration (e.g., conversations, experiences, memories, objects, observations and sounds) as a starting point for personal and public compositions.

b. Examine traditional and contemporary visual, multimedia, oral and written texts that present different viewpoints and perspectives on issues related to identity and social responsibility.

K-12 Creative/Productive (CP) Goal: Students will inquire, create and communicate through dance, drama, music and visual art.

CP20.2 Design and produce, individually or collaboratively, a multidisciplinary arts expression.

b. Describe the areas that marketing entails beyond selling and advertising.

e. Identify examples of commercial (e.g., Saskatchewan Roughriders) and social (e.g., ending mental health stigma or promoting the use of seatbelts) marketing.

Module 5: Personal Safety

Outcome:

Investigate the importance of personal safety to health and well-being.

Indicators:

a. Identify potential risks to personal health and security as a result of over-reliance on personal devices (e.g., hearing loss due to overuse of audio devices, injury to self and others due to distracted driving).

English Language Arts and Literature K-3

According to the 2023 Elementary English Language Arts and Literature curriculum, “language is a uniquely structured system that forms the basis for thinking, communicating, and learning.” The curriculum is built around the six strands of language learning: reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and representing, with each strand touching on aspects of digital media literacy.

But studies have shown that it takes just 10 percent of the people in a community to set its values. Spreading positive content can have a real impact.
