Literacy with ICT Across the Curriculum Overview
“Literacy with Information and Communication Technology (LwICT) means thinking critically and creatively, about information and about communication, as citizens of the global community, while using ICT safely, responsibly and ethically.”
Literacy with ICT is a developmental curriculum that combines critical and creative thinking, health and safety, ethics and responsibility and ICT literacy. It is not a separate curriculum but is infused with all other curricular areas.
Teaching in Literacy with ICT is based on five “big ideas” which make up stages of the learning process: Question and Plan, Gather and Make Sense, Produce to Show Understanding, Communicate and Reflect.
The two additional elements of Literacy with ICT are the health and safety and ethics and responsibilities guidelines.
