Arts Education
Media components are found in all three goals of the Saskatchewan Arts Education curriculum: Creative/Productive, Critical/Responsive strand and Cultural/Historical. The document An Effective Arts Education Program Aims and Goals of K-12 Arts Education states that students should be able to “respond critically and imaginatively to images, sounds, performances, and events in the artistic environment, including the mass media. Children become participants in the interactive process between artists and audience rather than passive consumers of the arts.”

(Note: as many of our lessons can be adapted to suit different grade levels, specific lessons may be listed for more than one grade. Teachers should also note that individual lessons often satisfy a number of learning outcomes.)
