Outcome Chart – Prince Edward Island – Integrated Curricula

According to this document by the Department of Education and Early Years, “Integrated curriculum is to enable and encourage learners to explore the world around them through an integrated, transdisciplinary lens. This approach emphasizes natural connections within the curriculum and makes learning more authentic and relevant for learners. It dissolves the boundaries between traditional subjects and organizes them into conceptual lines of inquiry to promote integrated thinking at a deeper level.”

Digital media literacy is found throughout the curriculum, particularly in the general curriculum outcomes of Inquiry Skills, Digital Skills and Social Emotional Learning Skills.

To obtain specific, media-related outcomes within the Information Communication Technology curriculum, as well as supporting resources for individual grade levels, see the left menu. (Note: as many of our lessons can be adapted to suit different grade levels, specific lessons may be listed for more than one grade. Teachers should also note that individual lessons often satisfy a number of learning outcomes.)
