MediaSmarts and Ontario Library Association partner to make digital literacy workshops available across the province

Ottawa, July 24, 2012 – MediaSmarts (formerly known as Media Awareness Network) is today announcing that all public library members of the Ontario Library Association (OLA) will now have access to its Web Awareness Workshop Series through a one-year licence agreement funded by a grant through Google Canada.

Media Awareness Network and Canadian Teachers' Federation Partner to Promote Media Literacy in the Digital Age

Ottawa, June 8, 2009 – Media Awareness Network (MNet) and the Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) are joining together to host Canada's fourth annual Media Literacy Week, November 2-6, 2009.

This year's theme – Media Literacy in the Digital Age – will emphasize the multiple literacy skills needed by today's youth for accessing, evaluating, repurposing, creating and distributing media content.

Media Awareness Network and Canadian Teachers' Federation to Focus on Digital Citizenship for Media Literacy Week 2011

May 25, 2011 (Ottawa) – Media Awareness Network (MNet) and the Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) today unveiled the theme for this year's annual Media Literacy Week– Digital Citizenship – calling on Canadians to encourage young people to reflect on their online lives, and their rights and responsibilities as they navigate the digital world.

When I was a teen, I listened to CDs. I’m not sure when I made the switch from cassette tapes (which I played in the cutest, smallest little pink tape player while listening to Pop Goes the World) to CDs, but by the time I was in my early teens it was all CDs. That was the early nineties.
