In Alberta, the following strands in the Mathematics curriculum have connections to digital and media literacy:

K-9:

• Statistics and Probability (SP)

10-12:

• Finance
• Logical Reasoning (LR)
• Probability (P)

According to the Mathematics K-6 Program of Studies, " Alberta's math programs require that students can not only add, subtract, multiply and divide, but that they also know how to reason and solve problems in real-life situations."
