Sponsor MediaSmarts’ Digital Media Literacy Awards

In 2026 MediaSmarts is marking 30 years of advancing digital media literacy in Canada – and celebrating by launching our inaugural Digital Media Literacy Awards at our 30th anniversary event.

Happening during Media Literacy Week 2026 in Ottawa on October 28, 2026, this special evening will celebrate our 30 years.

As part of this event, we are proud to honour Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF and the Toronto International Film Festival, with our Digital Media Literacy Champion Award – followed by a fireside chat on the importance of media literacy in Canada.

The evening will also celebrate the recipients of our inaugural Youth Leader Award and Educator of the Year Award, recognizing the next generation of advocates and educators inspiring them.

Why Sponsor?

As Canadians navigate challenges including AI-generated content, deepfakes, online hate, misinformation and algorithmic influence, the need for trusted digital media literacy education continues to grow.

By sponsoring the Digital Media Literacy Awards, your organization will:

  • support a healthier and more inclusive digital future in Canada;
  • align with MediaSmarts, a trusted leader in digital media literacy education;
  • connect with policymakers, educators, industry leaders and community partners;
  • help elevate important conversations around digital citizenship and online safety; and
  • demonstrate a meaningful commitment to youth and education initiatives.

Celebrate With Us!

This milestone celebration will bring together partners, alumni, board members, policymakers, educators, industry leaders and community collaborators for an evening of celebration, recognition, and connection. The invite-only event will feature award presentations honouring this year’s recipients, networking, sponsor activation opportunities and more!

The awards will also extend beyond the event through national and ongoing promotion across MediaSmarts’ networks and social channels.

Partner With Us!

We’re inviting corporate partners and organizations who share our commitment to digital media literacy education and civic engagement to help shape this inaugural event.
