Overall Expectations
Students will be expected to
- integrate knowledge, skills and practise required by caregivers to influence the welfare of children
- explain the importance of providing healthy food choices for children
- explore how children develop and learn through daily experiences
Specific Expectations
Students will:
- recommend ways to ensure child safety
- describe and model positive food experiences for children
- demonstrate and apply nutritional knowledge when selecting foods for children
- model safe food preparation and selection when preparing food for young children
- investigate the impact of computer technology, television and other media on children’s learning
