Teen Fact Checking Network

About TFCN Canada

The Teen Fact-Checking Network (TFCN) Canada is a bilingual program that brings teens together to investigate viral claims and share accurate information online.

Launched by MediaSmarts in partnership with MediaWise at The Poynter Institute, TFCN Canada is part of a global network of youth fact-checkers.

Participants receive training in practical verification skills, then they create short, peer-to-peer videos that explain what they found and how they verified it. Through this work, teens strengthen their critical thinking, build confidence and contribute to more informed online conversations in their communities.

Applications for future cohorts will open soon!
