Facing Online Hate

Join MediaSmarts for Facing Online Hate workshops being held this November to find out how the internet is used to radicalize youth and what you can do to combat it.

The Facing Online Hate workshop examines how the internet is used to spread and incite hate – and how educators can respond. The first part of the workshop provides an overview of hate and prejudice online and how it can radicalize young people and have a negative impact on both online and offline communities. The second part covers how educators can prepare young people to recognize online hate, to respond and to push back when they see it.

This workshop is a Zoom presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A, led by a MediaSmarts expert.
