Passport to the Internet - Technical Requirements

Recommended requirements:

Teachers will need to have a working e-mail account to use Passport to the Internet in a classroom setting. It is suggested that teachers create a new e-mail account for this purpose, either through their school board e-mail system or using a web-mail service such as Hotmail or Gmail.

Passport to the Internet requires the following minimum hardware and software:

Hardware Requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • Pentium II 233 MHz
  • 800 x 600 Display
  • 128 MB RAM

Recommended requirements:

  • Pentium III 1 GHz
  • 1024 x 768 Display
  • 512 GB RAM

Software Requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • Windows 98 or later
  • Flash Player 9
  • Internet Browser that supports Flash Player 9 (Firefox 1.3 or higher, Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Opera 9 or higher, Google Chrome 0.2 or higher, Safari 3 or higher.)

Optional requirements:

  • Speakers
  • Headphones (one per student)
