Media and digital literacy skills fall under Goal 1 of the BC Science curriculum (Science, Technology, Society and the Environment): “Students will develop an understanding of the nature of science and technology, of the relationships between science and technology, and of the social and environmental contexts of science and technology.” (Science Grade 5)

Media and digital literacy contribute to this by helping students to develop critical thinking habits and skills and to interpret the ways in which they gain information about the world around them.

(Note: as many of our lessons can be adapted to suit different grade levels, specific lessons may be listed for more than one grade. Teachers should also note that individual lessons often satisfy a number of learning outcomes.)
